Facility Digitization Coordinator, DART

About the Role

The Facility Digitization Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the Data-Activated Architecture for Resilient Transition (DART) project by ensuring that health facilities are equipped with the necessary digital tools and infrastructure. This position is crucial for enhancing the Ministry of Health’s capability to deliver effective healthcare services through technology. In the initial months, you will focus on assessing site readiness, deploying ICT infrastructure, and coordinating the implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems. Your efforts will contribute significantly to the overall goal of establishing a robust digital health ecosystem in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the facility-level digitization efforts by conducting thorough assessments of site readiness and identifying necessary upgrades to existing infrastructures.
• Coordinate the deployment of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure to ensure that health centers are prepared for EMR implementation.
• Oversee the implementation of EMR systems, ensuring that all processes are aligned with the project’s objectives and timelines.
• Develop and maintain asset management protocols to track and ensure the optimal use of technology resources at health facilities.
• Facilitate user training programs that prepare staff for effective utilization of new systems and technologies introduced at the facilities.
• Establish ongoing maintenance arrangements for ICT infrastructure to guarantee continuous operation and minimize downtime at health centers.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, or a related field is required for this role.
• At least 3 years of experience in project management, particularly in health-related technology deployments or similar initiatives.
• Strong understanding of EMR systems and digital health solutions, with experience in their implementation and use in clinical settings.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective collaboration with health facility staff and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently, with a strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
