The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is a leading center of excellence in infectious disease research, prevention, and treatment based in Uganda. Established in 2002, IDI is affiliated with Makerere University and works with governments, development partners, and local communities to strengthen healthcare systems across Africa. The institute delivers high-quality clinical services, conducts innovative research, provides capacity building for health professionals, and supports public health programs in areas such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB), malaria, and other infectious diseases.
