About the Role

The Content Moderator (Trust and Safety Specialist) at Odixcity Consulting plays a critical role in ensuring that user-generated content adheres to established platform policies, legal requirements, and community standards. This position is essential for fostering a safe and respectful online environment, which is increasingly important in today’s digital landscape. In the initial months, you will immerse yourself in the company’s content moderation processes, developing a keen eye for detail while working closely with other team members to manage high volumes of content and respond to emerging issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will review and take action on reported content across various formats, including text, images, and videos, ensuring compliance with platform guidelines and prioritizing high-risk cases that require human judgment.
  • Your daily tasks will include monitoring queues for emerging patterns of abuse, such as new spam techniques or coordinated hate campaigns, and promptly escalating these issues to the Policy team for further action.
  • Providing feedback on moderation tool effectiveness will be a crucial part of your role, as you will suggest workflow improvements aimed at increasing review speed while maintaining accuracy.
  • You are expected to maintain an impressive accuracy rate of 95% or higher on all moderation decisions, participating in calibration sessions to ensure your team’s consistency in applying policies.
  • Investigating cases involving content removal or account suspensions will be part of your responsibilities, requiring you to make fair determinations on reinstatement requests.
  • During critical incidents, such as graphic live-streamed events or organized harassment campaigns, you will serve as a designated responder, addressing situations with urgency and professionalism.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in content moderation, trust and safety operations, or community management for a significant tech or social media platform is required.
  • You should possess the ability to identify subtle violations that automated systems may overlook, such as hidden hate symbols in images.
  • Comfort with moderation tools like Hive, Besedo, Salesforce, and Google Workspace is essential for success in this role.
  • Experience managing spikes in content volume during significant global events or viral challenges will be advantageous.
  • Emotional resilience is crucial, as you will review potentially disturbing content, and you should have effective strategies for maintaining digital wellness.
  • A deep understanding of regional cultural nuances and historical contexts will help you distinguish between hate speech and protected political expression.
