The Owner role at IEEE CS HU is a pivotal position focused on steering the organization’s strategic direction and operational excellence. This role is crucial for ensuring that IEEE HU CS aligns with its mission to foster a community of technology enthusiasts in Kampala. In the first few months, the new Owner will immerse themselves in understanding the existing programs, engage with volunteers and stakeholders, and lay the groundwork for future initiatives. The Owner will be hands-on in problem-solving and decision-making, ultimately driving the organization’s growth and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
The Owner will develop and implement strategic plans that align with the mission and vision of IEEE CS HU, ensuring the organization meets its objectives efficiently.
You will oversee day-to-day operations, which includes managing budgets, allocating resources, and ensuring effective use of organizational assets.
This role requires supervising teams of volunteers, providing guidance, and fostering an environment of inclusivity and collaboration.
The Owner will maintain and cultivate relationships with external partners and stakeholders to enhance the organization’s visibility and impact within the community.
You will support the development of new programs and initiatives that engage members and address the needs of the technology community.
Ensuring adherence to organizational policies and promoting a culture of continuous improvement will be a key focus for the Owner.
Requirements & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated leadership and management experience, particularly in overseeing teams or programs.
Strong organizational and planning skills are essential, as the role involves juggling multiple responsibilities effectively.
Effective communication skills are crucial for collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders and team members.
A background or keen interest in computer science or technology is preferred, alongside familiarity with student or professional organizations.
Experience in budgeting, resource management, or project coordination will be highly advantageous for this role.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience will be considered.
