About the Role
The Senior HVAC Technician position at Dietsmann is a critical role that ensures the seamless operation of HVAC systems within the oil & gas and power generation sectors. This position matters greatly as it directly impacts the efficiency and reliability of essential equipment used in industrial settings. In the first few months, you will become acclimated to the company’s HSE policies, understand the specific HVAC systems in place, and develop a routine for preventive maintenance and emergency responses. Additionally, you will have opportunities to mentor local technicians, contributing to the growth of skills within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- You will execute preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities on HVAC and refrigeration systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Your role involves collaborating with other maintenance teams to monitor vibration, temperature, and operational parameters of HVAC equipment, ensuring all systems function efficiently.
- Conducting regular chilled water analysis and treatment will be essential to prevent corrosion, scale buildup, and microbial growth within the systems.
- You will verify the operation of HVAC automation and Building Management System (BMS) interfaces, ensuring seamless integration with facility management.
- Perform thorough maintenance on various HVAC units, including air handling units (AHUs), split air conditioners, and cooling towers, to uphold high operational standards.
- Troubleshooting and resolving faults in HVAC systems will be a key aspect of your daily responsibilities, ensuring that any issues are promptly addressed.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC maintenance and repair, ideally within industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of HSE regulations and practices, with the ability to promote safety within the HVAC team.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting HVAC systems and familiarity with modern HVAC automation technologies.
- Relevant technical certifications in HVAC systems, refrigeration handling, or equivalent qualifications are preferred.
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills to effectively transfer knowledge to junior technicians.
