About the Role
The Partnerships and Program Development Specialist at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Uganda plays a crucial role in securing resources that align with the country’s agricultural strategies and goals. This position is vital for ensuring that FAO’s Country Programming Framework (CPF) for 2026-2030 is effectively implemented through strategic partnerships and resource mobilization. In the initial months, you will engage with various stakeholders, develop relationships with key donors, and support the overall resource mobilization workflow. This role not only enhances Uganda’s agricultural framework but also contributes significantly to improving food security and nutrition across the nation.
Key Responsibilities
- You will create comprehensive and up-to-date briefing notes that detail the priorities and strategies of bilateral and multilateral resource partners, ensuring alignment with FAO Uganda’s CPF.
- Your role will involve maintaining the Resource Mobilization (RM) Opportunities Pipeline, tracking engagements throughout their entire lifecycle to ensure accurate reporting.
- Prepare summary pipeline reports for monthly coordination meetings, providing insights that guide strategic decision-making.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating donor engagements by developing agendas, presentations, and logistical details to foster effective communication.
- You will draft donor correspondence in collaboration with the Programme Development Specialist and other technical staff, ensuring clarity and professionalism in all communications.
- Support the action tracker system by following up on agreed next steps after donor meetings, ensuring accountability and progress in donor relations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Agricultural Economics, or a related field is essential; a Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- You should have at least 3-5 years of experience in program development or resource mobilization within the international development sector.
- Strong analytical skills are required, particularly in donor intelligence and mapping of resource partners.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial for effective donor engagement and collaboration with diverse teams.
- Familiarity with the UN system and an understanding of agricultural development policies in Uganda will be beneficial.
