About the Role

The Partner Manager position at Veeam Software offers a unique opportunity to engage with large channel partners who specialize in virtualization solutions such as VMware and Microsoft. This role is critical for driving sales growth and expanding Veeam’s presence in the Ugandan market through strategic partnerships. In the initial months, you will focus on establishing strong relationships with key stakeholders, developing comprehensive business plans, and familiarizing yourself with the specific needs of your channel partners. Your efforts will directly contribute to enhancing Veeam’s data management capabilities and ensuring clients benefit from robust data security solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve defined revenue targets and objectives within your designated territory by implementing effective sales strategies.
  • Develop and execute a territory plan that prioritizes relationships with channel partners, ensuring alignment with Veeam’s business goals.
  • Recruit, train, and empower channel partners to effectively promote and sell Veeam’s software portfolio.
  • Collaborate closely with Veeam Account Managers to facilitate the closure of significant enterprise deals, ensuring all parties are informed and engaged.
  • Conduct thorough account mapping with a specific focus on identifying potential channel partners and enhancing existing relationships.
  • Set and monitor quarterly targets, making adjustments as necessary to stay on track with sales goals.
  • Hold regular meetings with channel partners to review progress, address challenges, and strategize on future initiatives.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities by consistently following up with channel partners and providing necessary support.
  • Leverage established relationships with top channel partners while actively seeking to cultivate new partnerships that align with Veeam’s objectives.
  • Utilize consultative sales techniques to understand partner needs and deliver tailored solutions that drive results.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of successful sales experience in a channel-focused environment, demonstrating a strong understanding of the sales process.
  • Proven success in driving sales initiatives and achieving targets within the channel ecosystem, showcasing a results-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies is essential, and experience with Microsoft products will be considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of key IT storage and compute vendors, as well as system integrators and hyperscalers within the Ugandan market, is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in software backup channel sales will be beneficial for understanding Veeam’s offerings and market positioning.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are vital for effective collaboration within a multicultural team.
  • A proactive business acumen with the ability to suggest and implement lead generation initiatives that enhance sales performance.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is required to effectively engage with partners and stakeholders in diverse markets.
