About the Role

The Recruitment Trainee position at Q-Sourcing Uganda presents an exciting opportunity for recent graduates eager to embark on a career in human resources and recruitment. During the initial months, the trainee will primarily focus on familiarizing themselves with the company’s recruitment practices, learning how to evaluate candidates, and building relationships with clients and candidates alike. Additionally, they will gain hands-on experience in managing recruitment databases and coordinating interviews, setting a solid foundation for their career in HR.

Key Responsibilities

• The Recruitment Trainee will cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with client representatives to understand their recruitment needs and expectations.
• They will be responsible for posting job descriptions across various platforms and collaborating with the social media team to enhance job visibility through promotions.
• Utilizing diverse recruiting sources, the trainee will actively search for and identify quality candidates that meet client specifications.
• They will screen resumes and manage candidates throughout the hiring process, ensuring thorough preparation for interviews and conducting vetting procedures.
• The trainee will maintain a comprehensive database of candidate records, tracking active and passive prospects as well as top recommendations for hiring managers.
• Planning candidate interviews will involve organizing venues, scheduling interviews, and preparing necessary materials to ensure a smooth interview process.
• They will coordinate pre-employment background checks for selected candidates to facilitate a thorough selection process.
• Acting as a point of contact, the trainee will strive to build positive relationships with candidates, providing updates and support throughout the selection journey.
• Updating recruitment activity progress reports on a weekly basis will be essential for keeping stakeholders informed of hiring progress.
• The trainee will uphold the professional brand of Q-Sourcing Limited, ensuring a reputation as a preferred employer in the recruitment market.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree completed within the last two years in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Statistics, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, or a related field is essential.
• 0–1 year of work experience is preferred, with internship or volunteer experience in HR, administration, or customer service being advantageous.
• Strong planning and organizational skills are crucial, with an emphasis on the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required, both verbally and in writing, to effectively engage with candidates and clients.
• Analytical skills and attention to detail are necessary for assessing candidate qualifications and managing recruitment data accurately.
• Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving abilities will be critical for overcoming challenges that arise during the recruitment process.
