About the Role

The Team Leader for the Bridge Project plays a pivotal role in enhancing the resilience and prosperity of smallholder farmer households in Uganda. This position is essential in driving sustainable agricultural practices and creating inclusive market opportunities for over 210,000 farmers across several regions, ensuring that the benefits from past projects are maintained and built upon for future growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide the strategic execution and technical excellence of the programme in collaboration with all partners.
• Facilitate continual learning, evidence-based practices, and opportunities for scaling up successful initiatives.
• Direct programme implementation, planning, and partner engagement to meet established goals.
• Oversee operational aspects, including budget management, grant compliance, and adherence to donor requirements.
• Monitor programme performance, document learnings, and uphold accountability to stakeholders.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years of senior management experience in the agriculture sector, with a focus on food security and livelihoods.
• Substantial international exposure, particularly in Africa, leading complex programmes with diverse partners.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing smallholder farmers and agricultural organizations, utilizing participatory approaches.
• Comprehensive knowledge of market development, climate-smart agriculture, and sustainable land use practices.
• Proven ability to provide strategic direction and foster collaborative relationships among stakeholders.
