Description 

C-Care Uganda is seeking a Cashier responsible for managing and processing financial transactions within the hospital environment. The successful candidate will ensure accurate collection of patient payments, proper issuance of receipts, daily reconciliation of collections, and compliance with established financial procedures while providing excellent customer service to patients and visitors.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

• Receive and process payments through different channels, including cash, mobile money, and card payments, while issuing official receipts.
• Perform daily reconciliation of cash collections and prepare accurate end-of-day financial reports.
• Ensure the safety and proper handling of cash, receipts, and other financial documents during assigned shifts.
• Verify patient billing information, insurance details, and payment requirements before processing transactions.
• Work closely with the Accounts Department to resolve billing issues, payment discrepancies, and financial queries.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all financial transactions.
• Provide professional and friendly customer service to patients, visitors, and other clients.
• Ensure all cashiering activities comply with C-Care Uganda’s financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience

• Certificate in Pharmacy Assistant training or a related qualification.
• Previous experience in cashiering, stock management, or handling financial transactions, preferably within a healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of hospital billing processes and patient payment systems is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• High level of accuracy, integrity, and accountability when handling cash, receipts, and financial records.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy healthcare setting.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
