About the Role

Odixcity Consulting is on the forefront of developing innovative Natural Language Processing (NLP) systems, and we are in search of a meticulous NLP Data Annotator to join our remote team. This role is crucial as it directly influences the quality and effectiveness of AI models that power chatbots, search engines, and language understanding systems. In your initial months, you will familiarize yourself with our annotation guidelines, collaborate with team members to ensure data accuracy, and progressively take on more complex annotation tasks. Your work will contribute to enhancing how machines understand human language, making this a pivotal position in our mission to improve communication between people and technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will read and analyze text data meticulously, adhering to detailed annotation guidelines to ensure high-quality output.
  • Your tasks will include sentiment labeling, where you will identify emotional tones in text, and intent classification, helping machines understand user intentions.
  • As an NLP Data Annotator, you will engage in entity tagging and text categorization, which are essential for structuring data in a way that machines can interpret.
  • Maintaining accuracy and consistency is vital; you will follow detailed annotation instructions closely to meet project standards.
  • You will conduct quality checks on your work and resolve any discrepancies in annotations to uphold data integrity.
  • In addition to meeting productivity and quality targets, you will provide constructive feedback to enhance existing annotation processes and tools.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, reflecting your strong foundation in language and technology.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential, and knowledge of additional languages will be an added advantage in our diverse projects.
  • Experience with large language model (LLM) training datasets will be highly beneficial for understanding the context of your work.
  • Familiarity with data formats such as JSON, XML, and CSV is necessary, as these are commonly used in data annotation processes.
  • Understanding evaluation metrics like precision, recall, and F1-score will help you assess the quality of annotations effectively.
  • Experience in working with APIs and data pipelines is important for integrating the annotated data into broader NLP systems.
  • Strong reading comprehension and analytical skills are critical for interpreting complex text data accurately.
