About the Role

The Warehouse Supervisor at Chloride Exide Limited plays a crucial role in managing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, focusing on the receiving, storage, and distribution of goods. This position is essential for ensuring that the inventory system aligns with physical stock levels, thereby maintaining operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. In the initial months, the Warehouse Supervisor will familiarize themselves with the existing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work closely with the team to streamline processes. You will also engage in training sessions to understand the company’s policies, particularly those related to inventory management and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Warehouse Supervisor will conduct regular reviews and updates of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure effective inventory controls and enhance the overall customer experience.
  • You will implement the approved store SOPs and inventory management policies, ensuring that all team members adhere to these guidelines for optimal operation.
  • Ensuring the safe custody and accountability for all inventory items within the Exsan House store is a primary responsibility of this role.
  • You will allocate daily tasks and resources to the stores team, ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and implementing the 5S methodology will be vital to ensure a safe and organized working environment.
  • Overseeing stock movements into and out of the Exsan House store, you will ensure that all goods received are accurately logged within two hours as per company policy.
  • Conducting physical inspections of received goods and documenting any damages or discrepancies will be essential for maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • You will promote safety by ensuring that all personnel entering the warehouse are equipped with the appropriate PPE and fostering a safety-conscious culture among team members.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field is required for this position.
  • Certification in Warehouse Management or Inventory Control is highly desirable and will enhance your profile within the company.
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations or inventory management, demonstrating a strong background in this field.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and warehouse optimization software will be beneficial for executing daily tasks efficiently.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills are essential, as this role involves supervising a team and ensuring high performance.
