About the Role
The Country Manager for Uganda at Twezimbe will play a pivotal role in leading the launch and national expansion of a transformative community finance platform. This position is crucial as it seeks to revolutionize how groups manage savings and support each other through innovative financial solutions. In the initial months, you will focus on building the brand, establishing partnerships, and driving user adoption, laying the groundwork for a robust community finance ecosystem. Your leadership will help shape the future of financial services for many Ugandans, making this role not just a job but a meaningful mission.
Key Responsibilities
- You will spearhead the national rollout of the Group Savings and Bereavement Fund, ensuring that the product reaches communities across Uganda effectively.
- Your role will involve onboarding over 1,000 active bereavement groups within the first year, each with an average of 50 users, to achieve our ambitious growth targets.
- Monitoring and processing UGX 10 billion in contributions in the first 12 months will be a key metric for success in this role.
- Developing strategic partnerships with banks, telecommunications companies, and insurance firms will be essential to enhance our service offerings and improve user experience.
- You will build and manage a dedicated national field and digital growth team to ensure effective outreach and user engagement in diverse districts.
- Establishing demand pipelines for future product features such as SACCO digitization and crowdfunding will be critical to sustaining growth beyond the initial launch phase.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field is essential for this role to ensure a solid understanding of the financial landscape.
- At least 7 years of experience in leadership roles focused on growth, partnerships, or operations, demonstrating a proven track record in these areas.
- Your ability to scale digital platforms or community-based solutions will be crucial for driving the success of our initiatives.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management abilities are necessary to build relationships that will support our mission.
- Fluency in English as well as at least one major Ugandan language will facilitate effective communication across diverse communities.
