About the Role
The Operator position at AB InBev Africa in Mbarara is a pivotal role that focuses on the safe operation and maintenance of brewing processes and equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Attend safety briefings to discuss incidents and identify risks, ensuring a proactive approach to workplace safety.
- Review digital brew sheets from the previous shift to stay informed about process data and equipment statuses.
- Conduct thorough cleaning, inspection, and lubrication of equipment to maintain optimal functionality and hygiene standards.
- Monitor fermentation vessel parameters such as temperature and yeast activity, and perform necessary analyses to ensure product quality.
- Execute Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) procedures for tanks and pipelines, ensuring cleanliness and operational efficiency during downtime.
- Quickly respond to alarms or deviations in the brewing process and escalate unresolved issues to relevant teams for prompt resolution.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Food Science, Brewing Technology, or a related field is preferred to provide a foundational understanding of brewing processes.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or brewing environment will be advantageous, ideally with exposure to operational procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential for success in this role.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing processes is crucial for ensuring a safe working environment.
