About the Role

The Digital Impact Manager at UNICEF Uganda plays a crucial role in advancing the organization’s digital transformation agenda as outlined in the Strategic Plan 2026-2029. This position is vital for integrating innovative digital solutions that enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness in programs aimed at improving outcomes for children and young people. In the initial months, the successful candidate will engage with various stakeholders, including senior leadership and government partners, to assess current digital initiatives and identify areas for improvement. The role also involves fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation within UNICEF, ensuring that digital strategies align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the formulation and execution of UNICEF Uganda’s digital impact strategy, ensuring alignment with the overall mission of improving children’s lives.
• Oversee the piloting and scaling of digital transformation initiatives, generating evidence to measure their impact on program delivery.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government agencies, private sector entities, and development partners to foster a collaborative digital ecosystem.
• Enhance governance structures for ICT services, ensuring that all digital initiatives adhere to best practices and organizational standards.
• Facilitate training and capacity-building initiatives to equip UCO staff with the necessary skills to leverage digital technologies effectively.
• Continuously assess and improve organizational performance through data-driven decision-making, ensuring that digital solutions meet evolving needs.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Software Engineering, or related fields is essential for this role.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in Information Communication Technology or Digital Impact Project Management, demonstrating a strong understanding of digital ecosystems.
• Proven track record in managing complex projects with a focus on digital transformation and innovation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels.
• Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking and problem-solving, with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes.
