About the Role
The Financial Inclusion Officer role at FINCA Uganda is essential for driving innovative financial solutions aimed at low-income communities in Iganga. This position focuses on empowering individuals through financial literacy and group lending methodologies. In the initial months, you will collaborate closely with the Branch Manager to develop and execute community outreach strategies. Your efforts will directly contribute to enhancing access to financial services, thereby fostering economic resilience in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- You will work hand in hand with the Branch Manager to create monthly sales and marketing plans targeting specific catchment areas, ensuring that community engagement drives are effectively executed.
- In collaboration with the Branch Manager, you will organize monthly training sessions for identified groups aimed at promoting the group lending product, helping meet established financial targets.
- Your role will involve delivering financial literacy training sessions to groups, enhancing their understanding of financial management and the services offered by FINCA Uganda.
- You will guide these groups in selecting their leaders and establishing governance principles that support effective group management.
- During training sessions, you will emphasize the importance of group formation, cohesion, solidarity, and meticulous record-keeping.
- Moreover, you will assess the readiness of group members to utilize FINCA’s financial services, ensuring they are well-prepared to benefit from the offerings.
- Finally, you will implement the action work plans agreed upon at the beginning of each month and provide weekly progress updates to the Branch Manager.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A diploma in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field is required for this role.
- Fluency in both English and the local language spoken in Iganga is essential to effectively communicate with community members.
- Demonstrated ability to ride a motorcycle is a must, as it is crucial for reaching various locations in the community.
- Proven sales and marketing skills are necessary to effectively promote financial products and services.
- You should possess strong interpersonal skills and an aptitude for customer service to build trust and rapport with clients.
