About the Role
The Receptionist/Cashier position at AsOne Ministries Uganda Company Limited plays a vital role in ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment at the Healing Grace Medical Center. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you will embody the organization’s values of compassion and integrity, providing essential administrative support that enhances patient care. Your responsibilities will involve managing appointments, handling financial transactions, and maintaining patient records, all while fostering a friendly atmosphere. In the first few months, you will become familiar with the clinic’s operations, work closely with clinical staff, and develop strong relationships with patients, contributing significantly to their overall experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome and receive all patients and visitors at the clinic, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed upon arrival.
- Register new patients and accurately update existing patient records to maintain current and precise information.
- Manage the scheduling of patient appointments, including walk-ins, to facilitate smooth patient flow and minimize wait times.
- Answer phone calls and address inquiries with professionalism, providing accurate information or directing calls to the appropriate staff member.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area to create a welcoming environment for all clinic visitors.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure timely patient consultations, effectively communicating any delays to patients as necessary.
- Process patient payments for various services and ensure that all financial transactions are documented and receipted accurately.
- Handle sensitive patient inquiries with confidentiality and discretion, upholding the trust placed in the clinic by its patients.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in business administration or finance are a plus.
- Proven experience in a receptionist or cashier role, ideally within a healthcare setting, which enhances your ability to manage patient interactions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, allowing you to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic financial literacy, with experience in handling cash and performing transactions accurately.
