The Software Development Assistant is an entry-level position that supports the software development team in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications. The role involves learning and contributing to the organization’s software systems, participating in development meetings, writing quality code, troubleshooting issues, and supporting the delivery of reliable and efficient software solutions.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Work closely with the software development team to analyze business requirements, design, develop, test, and maintain software applications.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including technical specifications, user acceptance testing (UAT) records, and user guides.
- Apply version control best practices and ensure compliance with established software development standards and coding guidelines.
- Participate in Agile software development processes by contributing to regular releases, feature enhancements, and system improvements.
- Provide technical support, user training, and guidance to ensure effective use of developed applications.
- Assist in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving software defects to improve system performance and reliability.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- At least two (2) years of practical experience in software development using modern programming frameworks and Agile development methodologies.
- Hands-on experience developing solutions with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central using AL/CAL.
- Proficiency in Laravel, C#, and .NET Core frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of relational database design, data modeling, SQL development, and query optimization.
- Experience using version control and collaboration tools such as Git, GitHub, or Azure DevOps.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and development frameworks.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and perform effectively under pressure.
