About the Role

The Fulfillment Buyer at Twyford International plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery of purchase orders, which is essential for maintaining smooth operations within the supply chain. This position serves as a vital link between suppliers and various internal departments, facilitating effective communication and problem-solving to prevent delays. In the first few months, you will engage actively with suppliers, manage order statuses, and work closely with logistics and planning teams to align production schedules with material availability, all while developing a keen understanding of the company’s supply chain dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will monitor the entire order fulfillment process, ensuring that materials are delivered in the correct quantities and by the specified delivery dates.
  • Proactively tracking order status will be critical; you must identify potential delays and implement corrective measures to minimize disruptions effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate records of delivery progress is essential, requiring you to update the ERP system with real-time shipment information consistently.
  • Regular communication with suppliers will be necessary to review production statuses, quality control measures, and shipping plans, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Addressing fulfillment-related issues, such as late shipments or discrepancies, will involve collaborating with suppliers and escalating critical problems to the Procurement Supervisor when necessary.
  • You will coordinate with planning, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure alignment between material availability and production schedules, facilitating seamless operations.
  • Monitoring and analyzing supplier performance through key performance indicators will be part of your role, allowing you to prepare and present fulfillment performance reports for management review.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is essential for this role.
  • You should possess a minimum of 3–5 years of experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management, particularly in order fulfillment and supplier coordination.
  • Demonstrating an ability to manage multiple suppliers and orders in a fast-paced environment is crucial for success in this role.
  • A strong understanding of import/export procedures, Incoterms, and freight forwarding practices, especially within Uganda or East Africa, will be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, along with strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is expected.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential for effective interaction with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
