Warehouse Manager – Kampala Central Region

About the Role

The Warehouse Manager position at SwiftAxis Limited presents an exciting opportunity to lead and optimize the distribution operations at our Kampala Distribution Centre. This role is vital for ensuring that our logistics process runs smoothly, impacting customer satisfaction and overall business success. In the first few months, you will immerse yourself in understanding existing warehouse operations, identifying areas for improvement, and establishing effective workflows. You will also be responsible for leading a team, fostering a collaborative environment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Your leadership will directly contribute to the overall efficiency and reliability of our supply chain solutions across Uganda and East Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• You will plan, organize, and supervise daily warehouse activities to ensure a seamless flow of operations.
• Efficiently manage the receiving, inspection, storage, picking, packing, and dispatching of goods to meet customer demands.
• Maintain an optimal warehouse layout that maximizes storage capacity and enhances operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement comprehensive warehouse policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for improved performance.
• Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Lead the recruitment, training, and mentoring of warehouse staff, ensuring they are equipped to meet performance expectations.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in warehouse management or logistics operations is essential for this role.
• Proficient in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP software for inventory tracking and management.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail to identify areas for improvement in warehouse processes.
