About the Role

This position at Worldpackers provides an enriching opportunity to contribute to the well-being of guests and children at an orphanage in Uganda. Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly upon their arrival, providing them with essential information about the foundation and its activities.
• Assist in housekeeping duties, which include changing linens, cleaning rooms, and ensuring that common areas are tidy and inviting.
• Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of the orphanage premises, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for children and visitors.
• Support in organizing activities and events that engage both guests and children, fostering a sense of community.
• Help with laundry tasks, washing and folding clothes to maintain the personal hygiene and comfort of the children.
• Collaborate effectively with other team members to develop and implement cleaning schedules that meet the needs of the foundation and its guests.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to improving their living environment is essential.
• Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles will be an advantage, showcasing your attention to detail and reliability.
• Strong communication skills are required to interact effectively with guests, staff, and children, fostering a positive atmosphere.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to help where needed.
• Basic knowledge of hygiene and safety practices in a cleaning environment is a plus, ensuring the health of all residents and visitors.
