About the Role

The Global Division Service Automation & Care Manager at ABB plays a pivotal role in enhancing the lifecycle value of the Process Industries (PI) installed base through strategic automation modernization initiatives and Care Agreements. This role is essential for identifying opportunities for growth and innovation within the organization’s automation services. In the initial months, you will collaborate closely with Automation Managers, Product Managers, and Service Managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of existing systems and define strategies for modernization. Your efforts will directly contribute to the alignment of growth strategies within the company, ensuring that customers receive maximum value from their automation investments.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will own the visibility and management of the installed base lifecycle, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned on current statuses and future needs.
  • Your role will involve defining lifecycle and segmentation strategies to identify potential growth areas, assess risks, and recognize modernization needs across the installed base.
  • It will be your responsibility to identify automation modernization opportunities and accelerate their implementation to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • As part of your duties, you will promote best practices in lifecycle management and installed base development, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
  • You will facilitate cross-functional alignment and standardization efforts that support sustainable business growth and operational efficiency.
  • Your leadership will extend to the Care & ASM workstream within the DCS Recovery Program, where you will set priorities, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure stakeholder alignment for maximum business impact.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A significant background in Industrial Automation is essential, preferably with hands-on experience in automation systems and lifecycle services.
  • You should possess a strong understanding of how to derive long-term value from an installed base, translating technical strategies into measurable business results.
  • Proven leadership skills are required, including the ability to think strategically while executing plans effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary to work collaboratively with diverse teams across various business lines.
  • Experience in program management and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives will be crucial for success in this role.
