About the Role
The Financial Inclusion Officer role at FINCA Uganda is crucial for driving financial access among low-income communities in Kampala, specifically in Nakulabye. This position is designed to enhance the outreach of innovative financial services that empower individuals to invest in their futures. The first few months will involve engaging with community members, conducting training sessions, and developing marketing strategies alongside the Branch Manager. As you become familiar with the community’s needs, you’ll help create tailored financial solutions that foster economic growth and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Branch Manager to create monthly marketing plans that target specific catchment areas, ensuring that sales activities are effectively executed.
- Organize and facilitate monthly training sessions for potential customers, focusing on the group lending product to meet set monthly targets.
- Conduct financial literacy training for selected groups, ensuring participants understand key financial concepts and the benefits of FINCA’s services.
- Guide client groups in establishing leadership roles and governance principles, fostering strong group cohesion and effective record-keeping practices.
- Evaluate the readiness of group members to utilize FINCA’s financial services, providing insights into their needs and challenges.
- Implement agreed-upon action plans and provide weekly updates to the Branch Manager, ensuring alignment with community engagement goals.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A diploma in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field is essential for this position.
- Proficiency in both English and the local language of the operational area is required for effective communication with clients.
- Experience in sales and marketing, particularly within financial services, is a valuable asset for this role.
- Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to build relationships with community members and facilitate training sessions effectively.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and time management skills are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.
