Engineering Manager (3 months mission)

About the Role

The Engineering Manager position at Pragmatike is essential for overseeing the engineering function within a dynamic technology company. This role is a three-month consulting mission that can be renewed based on business needs, offering a unique opportunity for experienced leaders to make a significant impact. In the first few months, you will focus on aligning engineering priorities with the company’s business goals while fostering a collaborative environment among the engineering team. Your leadership will ensure that projects are executed efficiently and effectively, leading to successful product delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement the engineering roadmap that aligns with product and business objectives, ensuring clarity and direction for the team.
• Lead, mentor, and support the engineering team by setting clear priorities and removing obstacles that hinder productivity.
• Make informed architectural and technical decisions that prioritize scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Oversee complex technical projects from the planning phase through to execution, ensuring alignment with outcomes and timelines.
• Collaborate with product, sales, and business stakeholders to translate their requirements into actionable technical objectives.
• Establish and enhance development standards, processes, and practices across the engineering organization for improved efficiency.
• Maintain hands-on involvement with the engineering team to provide technical support and input when necessary.
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies that can contribute to the company’s strategy, particularly in Cloud, AI, and Blockchain.
• Continuously seek ways to improve engineering processes, team performance, and the overall quality of deliverables as the company grows.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proven experience in a leadership role such as Engineering Manager, Engineering Lead, or Head of Engineering, with a strong track record of managing teams.
• A solid foundation in software engineering, with proficiency in languages such as Python, Ruby, Elixir, or Golang.
• Deep understanding of software architecture and modern engineering practices, including agile methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver complex technical projects while managing engineering teams effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Capacity to balance technical depth with effective people management, remaining engaged with the team during critical phases of projects.
