About the Role

The Checkout Operator position at Centra plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth checkout process in the retail environment. In the first few months, you will become familiar with the computerized till system, learn the store’s layout, and engage with a diverse customer base. Key Responsibilities

• You will operate a computerized till system, efficiently processing transactions while ensuring accuracy in handling payments and balancing the till at the end of each shift.
• Engaging with customers is key, as you will need to assess their needs and provide tailored assistance, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience.
• During busy periods, you will assist in stocking shelves and checking stock levels, helping to maintain a well-organized store environment.
• As part of your duties, you will weigh and price products, particularly fresh produce, ensuring that customers receive the correct charges.
• It will be your responsibility to check customers’ ages for age-restricted products like alcohol, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
• You will actively participate in team meetings and implement feedback to continuously improve service delivery and teamwork.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A minimum of two years of experience in a retail role is preferred, showcasing your ability to work in a customer-focused environment.
• Strong communication skills are essential, enabling you to engage effectively with customers and team members.
• Attention to detail is critical, as you will manage financial transactions and ensure accurate pricing of items.
