About the Role
The Community, Partnerships & Market Access Lead is a pivotal role at Dormi Arts Initiative, a social enterprise that harnesses creativity and innovation to foster community development and generate livelihoods. This position is crucial as it directly impacts the organization’s ability to expand its reach and reinforce its partnerships, ultimately benefiting artists and artisans. In your initial months, you will focus on establishing connections with schools and community stakeholders, while participating in events to promote Dormi Arts’ mission. You will also work closely with the CEO to align community engagement strategies with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- You will build and manage Dormi Arts Initiative’s presence across schools, communities, and creative networks in Kampala and its surrounding areas.
- Your role will involve identifying, approaching, and maintaining active partnerships with schools, coordinating closely with the Inspiring Generations Programme Lead to ensure effective scheduling and program delivery.
- As the organization’s representative, you will attend community events, creative sector gatherings, and public forums to enhance visibility and foster relationships.
- Developing and maintaining a comprehensive community stakeholder database will be essential for tracking relationships, conversations, and potential opportunities.
- You will coordinate volunteer and community ambassador networks, enhancing the organization’s outreach and engagement efforts.
- Your responsibility will also include researching and identifying potential corporate, NGO, hospitality, and government partners to secure new collaborative opportunities.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A proven track record in community engagement or partnership development, ideally within the social enterprise or creative sector, is essential for this role.
- Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to confidently engage with diverse stakeholders, from corporate executives to community members.
- Experience in event management and representing organizations in public forums will be highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in relationship management and communication skills is crucial for building and nurturing partnerships.
- A background in arts, education, or social innovation, along with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience, will be beneficial.
