About the Role

The Depot Site Manager at Maersk Agency Uganda Limited plays a crucial role in overseeing the operational efficiency of depot sites across Uganda. This position is integral to ensuring that depot operations align with customer expectations and Maersk’s high standards, contributing to the company’s reputation for reliability and excellence in logistics.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily depot operations at various locations throughout Uganda, ensuring compliance with established SOPs and customer requirements.
• Maintain rigorous control over equipment handling, stock accuracy, and operational documentation, ensuring real-time updates and resolution of long-standing issues.
• Drive safety initiatives and foster a zero-fatality culture by promoting proactive safety observations and adherence to HSSE standards.
• Lead, mentor, and develop depot staff to enhance their performance and engagement, setting clear objectives and accountability measures.
• Manage the depot’s financial performance, focusing on cost control, productivity improvements, and supporting commercial initiatives.
• Act as the primary Local Product representative for Uganda, facilitating collaboration across various teams and addressing operational escalations effectively.
• Support the implementation of Area-led initiatives and ensure timely resolution of service failures and operational bottlenecks.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proven experience in depot or logistics management, with a strong understanding of operational processes.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
• Strong analytical skills to identify operational issues and implement sustainable solutions.
• Knowledge of HSSE standards and a commitment to safety in the workplace.
• Financial acumen to manage P&L and drive cost-effective operations.
• Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement and cross-team collaboration.
