About the Role

The Pulp and Paper Pilot Industry at Busitema University is seeking dedicated candidates to join its team in Tororo, Uganda. This role is essential for supporting the university’s mission to advance education and research in the pulp and paper industry, which is a vital sector for economic growth in Uganda. In the initial months, new hires will become acquainted with the university’s operational processes, engage with faculty and students, and contribute to ongoing projects that enhance practical learning experiences. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily operational management of the Pulp and Paper Pilot Industry, ensuring that all activities align with the university’s goals and standards.
  • Support faculty members in executing research projects by providing administrative assistance and coordinating resources and materials needed for experiments.
  • Facilitate communication between departments to ensure a seamless flow of information and enhance collaboration on various initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, financial expenditures, and resource allocation, ensuring transparency and accountability in all operations.
  • Organize workshops and training sessions for students and staff, fostering an environment of continuous learning and engagement within the industry.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of curriculum materials that integrate practical experiences in the pulp and paper field, benefiting both students and the community.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Administration, Business Management, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within an educational or research institution, ideally for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage various projects and responsibilities efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, enabling effective interaction with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in standard office software such as Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management tools.
