About the Role
The HR Officer position at Alight plays a crucial role in promoting a positive workplace culture and supporting the organization’s mission of aiding displaced communities. This role is essential for ensuring that the Human Resource department operates smoothly and effectively, providing necessary support to staff. Over the first few months, you will engage with employees to understand their needs, manage HR administration tasks, and contribute to recruitment efforts. By fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, you will help uphold Alight’s values and enhance team morale.
Key Responsibilities
- You will manage all HR correspondence, ensuring timely and accurate communication regarding recommendations, bank letters, and certificates of service.
- Supporting staff with leave planning will be a key responsibility, requiring you to track leave requests and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Coordination with IT is essential; you will set up email accounts and mailing-list access for new hires, as well as deactivate accounts for departing staff.
- Maintaining up-to-date records management for all staff documentation will be part of your daily tasks, ensuring compliance and accessibility.
- You will oversee the staff clearance process and ensure that terminal benefits are paid in accordance with company policies.
- Preparing, tracking, and distributing offer letters and employment contracts will be necessary for effective recruitment and onboarding.
- As part of your role, you will guide staff through their benefits packages and ensure proper administration of these benefits.
- Updating and sharing staff lists with the Office of the People on a monthly basis will help maintain accurate records across the organization.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is typically required for this role.
- You should have at least 3-5 years of experience in human resources or a related field, preferably in a nonprofit or humanitarian context.
- Strong understanding of HR policies, labor laws, and compliance issues will be essential for success in this position.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effectively engaging with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in HR software and systems is expected, with a strong ability to manage data and documentation effectively.
