About the Role
The Purewish Foundation Uganda (PFU) operates with a mission to transform the lives of disadvantaged children and youths in Northern Uganda through education and support services. This role focuses on enhancing PFU’s capacity to secure funding and develop proposals for establishing a permanent free school for vulnerable children. In the initial months, the volunteer will engage in research, proposal writing, and developing communication materials that highlight the organization’s impact. By strengthening PFU’s infrastructure, the role directly contributes to providing a stable and sustainable learning environment for over 350 children.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research to identify potential foundations and donors that align with the goals of the Purewish Foundation Uganda.
- Develop high-quality funding proposals and concept notes that clearly articulate the vision and objectives of establishing a permanent school.
- Assist in creating a resource mobilization strategy that outlines effective methods for attracting financial support.
- Map potential donors and funding opportunities to streamline PFU’s outreach efforts and build a robust pipeline of institutional partners.
- Design and prepare professional communication materials that effectively communicate the mission and achievements of PFU to stakeholders.
- Support the tracking of grant opportunities and deadlines to ensure timely submission of proposals and maximization of funding chances.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Education, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in proposal writing and resource mobilization within a non-profit or NGO context is highly beneficial.
- Strong research skills with the ability to identify suitable funding opportunities and articulate compelling narratives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey the mission and needs of the organization.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools and software to create engaging presentation materials is an advantage.
