About the Role
The Island Room Manager position at Amentum is a crucial role that directly supports the US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. This position is essential for ensuring that daily operations in the Island Room, which includes food service, beverage operations, and recreational activities, run smoothly and efficiently. In the first few months, you will focus on establishing operational standards, training staff, and creating engaging recreational events that meet the needs of patrons. Your leadership will be pivotal in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and operational excellence, while also ensuring safety and compliance with health regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- You will develop and oversee operational processes and standards, ensuring that all services meet both contractual and performance expectations for quality and efficiency.
- Supervising and leading a team, you will provide direct oversight and training, fostering a high-performance culture within the food, beverage, and entertainment operations.
- Planning and executing recreational events will be part of your role, allowing you to engage patrons and enhance their experience through well-organized activities.
- Maintaining a welcoming and safe environment in the Island Room is critical, and you will ensure that it meets guest expectations and adheres to established quality standards.
- Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental guidelines, particularly in food and beverage service operations.

Requirements & Qualifications
- A four-year degree from an accredited institution in business administration, food and beverage management, hospitality, or a related field is required.
- Alternatively, candidates with a minimum of three years of general business management experience in related operations will be considered.
- Strong leadership skills are essential for supervising staff and ensuring high-performance outcomes.
- Experience in planning and executing events will greatly benefit your ability to engage patrons effectively.
