About the Role

The Business Intelligence Expert at Opportunity Bank Uganda plays a critical role in guiding the bank’s strategic decisions and overall corporate strategy execution. This position is vital for transforming data into actionable insights that drive growth and improve client outcomes. In the first few months, you will be immersed in understanding the bank’s processes and data systems while developing dashboards and reports that provide clarity on performance metrics. You will collaborate closely with leadership to align the bank’s objectives with measurable outcomes, ensuring all teams are informed and engaged in the strategy execution process.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the formulation and implementation of the Bank’s Corporate Strategy by translating it into specific, actionable plans that can be executed across all units.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive business intelligence dashboards that highlight performance metrics and trends to facilitate informed decision-making by senior management.
• Conduct thorough market analysis, assessing trends, competitor actions, and macroeconomic indicators to aid in strategic planning and positioning.
• Ensure the integrity and consistency of data across all management reports and dashboards by implementing appropriate data governance standards.
• Automate routine reporting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the timeliness of data delivery throughout the organization.
• Collaborate with various teams to optimize the Bank’s Data Warehouse solution, ensuring it meets the evolving analytical needs of the organization.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Business Studies, Economics, or Data Science is essential for this role.
• A postgraduate qualification in a related discipline will be considered an advantage, enhancing your candidacy.
• Professional certifications in data analytics or business intelligence tools are highly desirable and will set you apart from other applicants.
• At least four years of hands-on experience in business intelligence, analytics, or strategy management, particularly within banking or financial services, is expected.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with BI tools and data analysis techniques are required to excel in this position.
