Finance Manager – Central Region, Kampala

About the Role

SwiftAxis Limited is on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Finance Manager to spearhead its financial operations in the Central Region of Kampala. This role is crucial for ensuring the company’s financial health and supporting sustainable growth strategies. As a Finance Manager, you will engage in comprehensive financial planning, budgeting, and reporting while steering the organization towards informed decision-making and enhanced profitability. In the first few months, you will familiarize yourself with current financial processes, assess existing controls, and begin to implement improvements that align with the company’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the company’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry standards.
• Manage cash flow effectively, overseeing treasury functions and working capital to maintain financial stability and liquidity.
• Oversee accounting operations, ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), tax regulations, and all statutory requirements to mitigate risks.
• Develop and strengthen financial controls, risk management strategies, and governance frameworks to enhance operational efficiency and accountability.
• Provide detailed strategic financial analysis and actionable recommendations to senior management to support business growth initiatives and optimize profitability.
• Lead the audit process, coordinating with external auditors and maintaining robust relationships with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and transparency.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is essential, with a Master’s degree or professional qualifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) being highly advantageous.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in finance management or a related role, demonstrating strong leadership skills and a strategic mindset.
• Proficient in financial software and tools, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations relevant to Uganda.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide clear insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and lead a finance team.
