About the Role

The Human Resource Trainee position at TechBuzz Hub in Kampala is a pivotal role designed to support the growth of innovative startups by managing critical HR functions. This position exists to enhance the HR team’s capacity to nurture talent and streamline employee processes, ensuring a productive workplace. In the initial months, trainees will engage in hands-on experiences, allowing them to understand the dynamics of HR management within a startup environment. As part of the Graduate Professionals Apprenticeship Program (GPAP), trainees will benefit from mentorship and coaching, enhancing their skills while contributing to the organization’s mission of fostering entrepreneurship.

Key Responsibilities

• The Human Resource Trainee will assist in maintaining accurate employee records, ensuring data is up-to-date and compliant with organizational standards.
• Participating in the recruitment process, trainees will help create job postings, screen candidates, and coordinate interviews to attract top talent.
• Conducting new employee orientations will be a key duty, introducing new hires to company policies, culture, and their roles effectively.
• The trainee will implement HR policies and procedures, providing guidance to employees and ensuring adherence to best practices within the workplace.
• Managing employee benefits will involve assisting with enrollment processes and responding to employee inquiries regarding their benefits packages.
• Supporting various HR projects and initiatives will provide hands-on experience in strategic planning and execution within the HR function.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A background in a management course or a related field is essential for understanding HR fundamentals.
• Skills in Human Resources, HR Management, and HR Policies will be crucial for effective performance in this role.
• Candidates should possess an understanding of recruitment processes and effective employee relations strategies.
• A strong interest in enterprise development and technology innovation will enhance the trainee’s contribution to the organization.
