Revenue Accounting Manager

About the Role

The Revenue Accounting Manager position at Ruby Labs is a vital role within our finance team, focusing on managing the accounts receivable process to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations. This position is essential as it ensures that revenue from our innovative consumer products is recorded appropriately and that financial reporting is aligned with the highest standards. In the initial months, you will immerse yourself in understanding our payment systems, familiarize yourself with our accounting standards, and work closely with your team to establish internal controls that enhance our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• You will lead the entire accounts receivable cycle, ensuring all transactions with various payment providers are captured and reconciled accurately.
• Your role includes performing daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across multiple payment platforms such as Stripe, PayPal, and others, ensuring adherence to financial regulations.
• You will investigate variances and timing discrepancies in transactions, maintaining a high standard of accuracy in all reconciliations.
• Management of multi-currency settlements will be part of your responsibilities, requiring you to effectively handle foreign exchange differences.
• You will apply relevant accounting standards, such as IFRS 15 for revenue recognition, and maintain accurate deferred revenue balances.
• As part of the month-end close process, you are expected to prepare AR-related tasks and documentation to meet audit and compliance standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required, with a professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or CMA being highly preferred.
• Applicants should have at least 7-8 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 2-3 years specifically in accounts receivable or revenue accounting.
• Experience in a subscription-based, SaaS, or recurring revenue business model is essential for this role.
• You should possess strong technical skills, especially in reconciling high-volume transactions across various payment service providers.
• Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets and the ability to work comfortably with large datasets is a must.
